What is a Celebrant?

Updated: Dec 4, 2018

Once upon a time, there were only two ways choices available to couples wishing to get married, a church or registry office.

But times have changed, and couples now seek a more personal way to say vows and declare their love and commitment to each other.

Enter a Celebrant.

Trained to write and deliver ceremonies, a celebrant works with couples to write a unique ceremony, from scratch, that is completely personalised to suit the couple and their vision for their ceremony.

Working as a civil celebrant in Lancashire I am trained to perform weddings, vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies, civil partnerships, commitment ceremonies and even more unique ceremonies such as divorce healings or burn the dress ceremonies.

With so many hidden gems out there, stunning private estates, beautiful outdoor locations, and alternative venues such as tipi's and forests, couples now seek something different for their big day.

Many venues have to pay large fees to become a local authority licensed venue, able to conduct registrar led weddings, but these licenses come with some strange rules, say goodbye to that champagne toast as you sign the certificate, and hello to increased fees to help them cover the cost of their license.

The Tipi's at Riley Green

A celebrant led ceremony allows you to choose any venue you desire, no license necessary. Your favourite beach. A tipi in the middle of the countryside. The local pub beer garden. The choice is only limited by your imagination.

And not only that, but you can decide how you’d like your love story told.

Traditional or unique, religious or not. You have the freedom to completely personalise your wedding ceremony, telling the story of how you met, the proposal, exchanging rings, and saying those all important vows to the person you love.

No two couples are the same, and no two ceremonies should be either.

By choosing me as your wedding Celebrant it allows you to tell your love story in a way that means something to you, and in a location that suits your style.

Let's work together to create the ceremony you have always dreamed of.
